On Sunday last there was a great buzz of excitement around town with the outdoor Christmas Market. This event was hosted by the Christmas Lights Committee and great credit is due to the organizing committee. The unique live crib was a real treat for everyone and St. Mary’s Church choir sang some Christmas carols. There were all kinds of everything on sale including live turkeys. Santa arrived in town and was based at Lus na Greine FRC for the day where hundreds of children parents and grandparents visited Santa and his helpers in his Grotto. The town Christmas lights were switched on at 4.30pm by Mayor of Granard Town Council Maura Kilbride Harkin and everyone departed from the area with a feel good factor.
