Newtownforbes Cywalkleathon 2013 (cycle, walk, run, bed push) Sunday 27th October, Registration from 8.30am @ Paddy Joe Murphy Sports Complex Newtownforbes in aid of Autism and Dyslexia Longford.
Fancy Dress fundraiser in aid of Autism and Dyslexia Longford will be held in the Complex, Newtownforbes on Thursday, 31st October 5pm – 8pm. Children €5 - adults free. Music, facepainting, games, etc. Prize for best dressed boy/girl.
Under 6, boys and girls football training is now finished for the next few months. Training will resume in early Spring.
Congratulations to Sabrina McNally and Adrian Scollan, (the Village), on the birth of their baby boy Terence. Were glad to report the mum and baby are doing great.

Blessing of Insignia
The Insignia of our new Bishop: Ring, Mitre, Pectoral Cross and Crozier will be blessed at Mass in St. Mel’s Centre on Friday, October 4th, Feast of St. Francis at 7.30pm. All welcome.
Arthritis Ireland is holding an information event to inform everyone about this new free Occupational Therapy service being offered to all in receipt of Illness Benefit aged from 18-65 in the Temperance Hall on October 7th at 7pm.
The next First Friday/Saturday all night reparation and adoration vigil to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary is scheduled for Friday the 4th October. There are two venues, one is the Chapel of Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown commencing at 10pm and the second one is in St Anne’s (former Mercy Convent), Convent Lane, Mohill commencing at 8pm. Patrician meeting Monthly meetings will be held in the Family centre, St Mels Road, Longford on the first Saturday of each month. The topic on Saturday 5th of Oct is on the Holy Shroud of Turin.

A fundraising night will be held in the Village Inn on October 12th for Carol Galvin, c/o Willie & Philomena Forde, Cloonaugh Lower, Drumlish and natives of Kilmahon. Carol, diagnosed with MS eight years ago is confined to a wheelchair and was recently diagnosed with a chronic form of Lyme Disease also. Lyme Disease treatment is available in Germany is due to cost €40,000. Carol lives in Athlone with her husband David and 6 year old daughter. Your help and support of this fundraiser will be greatly appreciated.
The Rainbow Programme starts in the Family Centre on Thursday 3rd October at 6.00pm and runs for twelve weeks. Rainbow is for children (5 years and over) and teenagers who have experienced loss. For further information and to book please ring 043 3346287 or 087 2843034 before 26th September.
Classes will resume after the summer break in the PJ Murphy Hall, Newtownforbes on Friday 20th September at 2.10pm for Children under 8yrs and at 3.10pm for children over 8yrs. There will also be another Irish Dancing Class in Newtownforbes Parish Hall on Fridays at 6pm. Alternatively Irish Dancing Classes are taking place in the Aerobics Room, Longford Sports and Leisure Complex at 3pm for U-7 years and 2pm for older children.
