The Pride of the County
The Intermediate Ladies did the county proud on Sunday winning the All-Ireland in fine style. What a gutsy performance when it looked like the underdogs Tipperary might cause problems as time ticked away. This is a well deserved win for the ladies who were beaten by Westmeath on the 2011 final. Well done to local stalwart Mona Sheridan who had a great game and got her name on the score-board. Also to her father joint Team Manager Gerry on a job very well done.
In Croke Park
Congrats to Gavin Brady, Killydoon who represented Cavan at the mini sevens on All-Ireland final day 22nd September in Croke Park at the half-time interval. This is a great achievement for another of our very talented stars of the future who is a grand-nephew of Phil The Gunner Brady. Well done Gavin.
In the Final
While the Dreadnoughts have bowed out of the Senior Championship the Club will be represented by Ballinagh team manager, Ciaran O’Reilly, Drumcorr and we wish him the best of luck against Cavan Gaels.
Well done to the u16 team which overcame Drumlane on Monday evening 23rd to win the final. Also to the u12 team which eventually defeated Ballymachugh in the replay. This was an epic battle with excellent play by both teams resulting in extra time being played in the replay and at the final whistle the locals won by just 1pt. The u14 team has made it to the semi-final which will be played later this week. Unfortunately the minor team was defeated by a much stronger Laragh side in the semi-final but over-all the future looks bright at underage.
