Feast of Ascension: This feast day was celebrated on Sunday last which is normally celebrated 40 days after Easter. 
It is one of the several feastdays in the Church’s calendar which has been moved to a Sunday so as to enhance its celebration. Usually celebrated on a Thursday it was always a day off school for the children.

Funshine Summer Camp: Will take place from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th of July in Our Lady of Lourdes Park Mullahoran.  Activities will include, Games, Rounders, Arts and Crafts, Gaelic football, Volleyball, Dodgeball, talent shows, Outdoor and Adventure and much more. The camp will be suitable for all children aged 5 – 12 years old.  The camp will run from 10 am to 2:30 pm every day. Reminiscence Workshop: On Friday next 17th May final day of “Reminiscence” Workshop, a look back at the good times with Mary Henry is taking place in Lus na Greine, Granard as part of Bealtaine. A lovely morning to remember times past - like walking to school, the smell of tobacco, shoe polish and the excitement of electricity to every home. You can tell your story and memories of times past. And then enjoy some lovely refreshments after like home made brown bread and potato bread. Make it a date. From 11.00 - 12.30pm

 

Book Club: Granard Branch Library Book Club next meeting on May 29th at 11am. The book for this month is “Englby” by Sebastian Faulks.

GFC Lotto: Draw trook place in Sheridan’s Kilcogy Tuesday 7th May, Jackpot €13,600 Numbers drawn 3-4-19-24, no jackpot winner. €100 - Ned McGahern, Cloncovid; €25 x 4 - Geraldine Clarke, c/o Barney Mac’s, Sean & Finola O’Reilly, Cloncovid, Paige Mulvey, Drumhowra, Peter Donohoe, Derries. In the return round of Division 1 League, the locals were away to Lacken on Sunday afternoon. Due to Lacken pitch being unplayable the game was transferred to the 3G pitch. This was a lively well contested game with the locals taking an early lead which they never relinquished and eventually won by 2 pts. There was no Reserve game.

First Holy Communion: The children from 2nd class in the local school will receive the Sacrament in St. Joseph’s Church, Loughduff this Saturday 18th May. May this be a very special day in their lives.

Erne Valley Community Games: Athletics finals will take place in Mullahoran next Sunday 19th at 6.30.

Kilcogy Booklet: Antoin MacGabhann wishes to correct an error in the Booklet on the Kilcogy musicians which stated that Jack McInerney’s mother, Catherine Palmer, was from Germany when in fact she was from America. We apologise for this error.

Ecumenical Service of Rememberance: For family and friends bereaved by suicide will take place at 3 pm on Sunday 26th May in the Church of Ireland, Virginia. Everyone welcome.
