League: Arva had Shannon Gaels as visitors to Michael Cully Park on Sunday last for a game in the Brady’s (Arva) Volkswagen Division 3 League and with underfoot conditions not very good due to the persistent rainfall the home side emerged victorious on a score line Arva 1-13 Shannon Gaels 0-5. The visitors were short a number of their more prominent players hence the reason for their poor showing. After their defeat by Kill the previous week Arva were eager to get back to winning ways and this they achieved by 11 points. Considering that a number of games were called off due to the rain it was testament to the continued work on the Arva pitch that the game was played. Arva team – Sean Donnelly, Shane Finnegan, James Morris, Patrick Murtagh, Shane Mc Manus, Thomas Brady (1-0), Stephen Ellis, Brian Fitzpatrick, Ciaran Brady, Alan Barry, Conal Sheridan (0-1), Cian Sheridan, Jonathan Mc Cabe, Kevin Bouchier (0-9), Brian Ellis (0-2). Subs – Gavin Doyle (0-1), Raymond Daly, Paul Bouchier, Danny Mc Entee.
