AN POST RAS: On Sunday next the An Post RAS cycle race will pass through Ballinalee on its way to the finish line of the 1st stage of the race in Longford. It will be passing through the village between 2.45 – 3.45pm coming in the Granard Road. Please come out to support the cyclists who will be from all over Europe.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy to the Brady family Michael Hugh and Jimmy and families on the death of their mother Katie Brady Firmount at the weekend. RIP.

PITCH AND PUTT: The Acres Pitch & Putt will host the All Ireland U16 community games finals on weekend 25/26 May with an estimated 250 competitors from all over Ireland taking part. Our own parish will represent Longford. We wish them well.

TEA MORNING: Alzheimers Society Tea Morning this Friday 10.30 – 12.30 in the Stags Head. Please support. Boxes available in local shops for donations.

COLLECTION: Many thank to all who contributed to the Fine Gael national collection at Holy Trinity Church recently. Unfortunately I was unable to take up the collection at Clonbroney, please drop into me if you wish to contribute.

BIRTHDAY: Birthday greetings to Eoin Fagan Listrahee who celebrated on Saturday night last in Rawles with family and friends.

COMMEMORATION: The date for the unveiling of the monument to General Sean MacEoin and the members of the flying column will take place on Sunday June 16th at 2pm. A plaque will also be erected at his birthplace in Bunlahy by the local community group in the area. An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will attend the unveiling.

DEEPEST SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy to Jamie and Pat Dooner Aughaboy Killoe on the death of her mother Sarah Martin RIP.
