DINNER DANCE: St Brigids annual dinner dance was held on Saturday night last and was a great success. Congratulations to those who were honoured by the club for their commitment and dedication to the club: player of the year Michael Skelly; clubperson of the year Alec McCloughry;Hall of Fame – Mel Fallon and Liam Gouldsbury.

CONGRATS: Congratulations to Shane and Emer Casey, Meelick on the recent birth of their baby boy Daniel. Daniel is a very welcome brother for Aoife. Congratulations are also extended to the proud grandparents Imelda and Mel Fallon, Clondra and Danny Casey, Meelick.

BIRTHDAY: Congratulations to Mel Fallon Clondra who recently celebrated his 70th birthday. The special occasion was marked by a party at Mels home which was attended by family and friends. We wish Mel many happy returns.

KILLASHEE SCHOOL REUNION: To all past pupils of Killashee National School , those who attended the old school and those who attended the present school St Earnans. You are all invited to attend a reunion in Magans Killashee on Friday 14th June 2013. Make contact with old friends , meet on the night and remember the ‘good old times’.We will keep you up to date with how preparations are going for what promised to be a wonderfully nostalgic night.

VILLAGE ENHANCEMENT: The next meeting of the group will be held in Killashee National School on Thursday next 28th February at 7.45pm sharp. Funding for community development is almost running out so this is our last chance for now to secure funding for enhancement and development in the village. Representatives from Keystone Architects will attend to assist with the formulation of a development plan and sourcing funding. Please come along on the night to share your ideas and opinions on the future of your village.

SYMPATHY: Deepest sympathy is extended to the Ryder family and Kearney family on the recent death of Cissie Ryder Ballinahinch, Newtowncashel. Deepest sympathy is extended to Catherine and Mark Fallon and family Caramana on the recent death of Catherine’s sister Brid Dunne. Deepest sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Vincent Lynam late of Killashee and Dublin. May their souls rest in peace.

COMMUNITY GAMES: The annual draw for the Easter Eggs will be held the week before Easter. The children of the parish will be selling tickets for the draw and your support would be greatly appreciated.

QUIZ: A quiz will be held on Saturday next 2nd March in Killashee National School at 11.30am.This quiz is to pick teams for the county table quiz for U14 boys and girls. Please bring a pen/pencil to quiz.

LOTTO: The local Lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 9,15,23,27. There was no jackpot winner. 40 euro winner was Pat Farrell (Ruskey). 20 euro each went to Ellen Cassidy Robin Lane; Helen Neary. The next draw will be on Sunday 10th March in Magans Bar Killashee for a jackpot of 4280 euro. Your support is greatly appreciated.
