Lotto: Results for the Feb. 18th lotto draw are as follows. The numbers drawn were: 1, 24, 28 and 29. There was no winner of the jackpot. €20 winners were: Bridget Beatty, Kilcogy, Katie Martin, Arva, Pauric Brady, Bunlahy and E. Hughes, Ballinalee. Macra na Feirme: A meeting for anyone aged between 17 and 35 who are interested in meeting new people, getting involved in sports, travel, debating, or just having fun will be held in The Clubhouse, Monaduff, Drumlish on Thursday February 28th at 8pm with a view to setting up a Macra na Feirme Club for North Longford. All welcome.
Celebrate Cian Fun Weekend: As part of the celebrations in memory of Cian Smith Glenmore, there will be a fun football match between Cian’s friends, in Páirc na nGael, Dromard on Sunday 3rd March at 2pm. The highlight of the day will be the arrival of both the Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups. Please do come along and enjoy the fun! Due to the fantastic response, all tables for the “Come Dine with Me” events have been fully booked. However you are very welcome to come along afterwards - Dancing on Friday 1st March in the Breffni Arms, Arva to “Nite Fever” and on Saturday 2nd March in the Piker’s Lodge, Gowna to “The Dance on Band”. Tickets are available at the door on both nights. We thank everyone for their very generous support in making this a wonderful fundraiser for the “Make A Wish” Foundation.
Karate Class: Following on from the huge success of the children’s karate classes at the Canon Kelly memorial hall in Granard, a new adult class has started on Wednesday from 6-7pm. C.A.D.G: On Saturday night last Kevin Mc Nally, Rathmore, represented Teagan McNally in our weekly Find the Joker. The card turned over was the queen of diamonds. Hard luck to Kevin and Teagan. Next week Violet McGauran, Cornadrung, has the chance of winning the jackpot of €560 if she can find the joker. Envelopes are €2 and are on sale in local shops, Murtagh’s bar or any of the group committee. All support is greatly appreciated.
North Longford Men’s Group: The participants of the above group meet every Friday from 12 – 3pm in the local community centre in Aughnacliffe with the exception of the weeks that they go on their monthly outing when there will be no meeting. Due to the trip to the Arigna Mining Experience on Tuesday 26th Feb. there will be NO meeting on Friday March 1st. On Friday last the members uncovered their artistic skills, as Sr. Brigid put them through their brushstrokes. Many beautiful pieces of art came to the fore. The Men’s group in partnership with the EDI Centre Longford & Marie Keating foundation are holding a programme on men’s and women’s health awareness. The programme has been rescheduled to April. Further details later. As we all Work together to beat cancer through awareness, education and support services. This programme is free and will take place in EDI Centre Longford.
