Recycling: Lenrec Recycling will be calling to our school on March 6th. They collect old clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, ties, linens, etc. (the condition is not important, so long as items are clean). Money raised from the collection goes towards resources for the children in the school. You can leave bags in to the school Monday-Friday, 9:10am-3:10pm.

Meeting: At a meeting last Thursday of the steering group for the Village Enhancement Plan it was decided that the Hall and Amenities were priority areas and that a meeting should be arranged with LCRL without delay. Matt agreed to research what work was proposed by the Council and Waterways Ireland to avoid duplication of work on Trails.

TARMON MACRA GROUP: Following on their recent performance in the Roscommon Arts Centre,the Tarmonbarry drama group Sanctuary Players are staging their play “Highest House on the Mountain” by John B Keane in the Backstage Theatre Longford on Thursday 28th February and Friday 1st March at 8.30pm sharp. It features a well known local cast and is directed by Donal Kelly. Its one of John B Keane’s lesser known plays. A great night’s entertainment and drama is assured from this very talented group. So come along one of the nights and support. Your continued support is very much appreciated for the two local very worthy causes.

GAELSCOIL LONGFORD: Open day and enrolment for all classes will take place on Saturday 2nd March from 1pm to 3pm.We would be delighted to personally meet with you and to take you around the school to see for yourself the quality of provision we offer. Also accepting pre-enrolments for September 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

LENTEN LUNCH: Tickets are now on sale for the annual Lenten Lunch fundraiser in aid of Sr Christophers/Longford Hospice which takes place in the Longford Arms Hotel on Friday 15th March from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.Tickets available from any of the committee members and organisers.
