Sympathy extended: We extend our deepest sympathy to The Dunne family, Curraghroe on the untimely death of Brid Dunne, Doughill, Curraghroe which took place recently. Huge crowds turned out to Brid’s funeral, removal and Mass in Curraghroe and burial in Scramogue cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Anthony Beirne RIP: We are all shocked at the death of Anthony Beirne, Bridge St, Strokestown which took place very unexpectedly last Tuesday. His untimely passing has rocked the Town of Strokestown area. We extend sympathy to his wife Bridie,sons Tony, Francis and daughter Miriam,sisters Terese and Celine, son in law Mick, daughter in law Janet. May he rest in peace. Many people from this region would have been customers of Anthony and would enjoyed his wit and humour. He will be very sadly missed by his family and his customers.

Community Games: The Art and Handwriting competition will be run as usual through the local schools. Entries must be in by 10th of March as the County Finals are on the 23rd of March. Anybody interested in the talent competition please contact Collette Meally on 087 0640969. This competition will be run on Thursday 14th March in St Barrys GAA Hall 6-7-30pm. Anyone interested in competing in community games swimming event please contact Grainne O’Boyle 087 9914869. Community Games basketball competition will start on the 18th March.
