Cemetery: Some of the small crosses that were erected by some people to mark their plots in Abbeylara Cemetery have been removed. If you consider that your plot has been marked by someone else with a cross please consult with Fr. Michael before removing the cross, so as to avoid confusion – thank you.
Tidy Towns: Are having their AGM on Friday 12th Oct. in the Sports Centre at 9pm. all members please attend, new members are very welcome to attend.
Area Enhancement: Our next meeting is on Friday 12th Oct. at 9pm. You are all welcome to attend. We are now in a position to commence putting our plans into operation, so it is vital for everyone to come aboard and have their say. It may be too late to start complaining after this date, that’s why we need all the parishioners of Abbeylara and Carra parish to attend. We are working with the Tidy Towns on this project and it covers the whole parish.
Active Retirement: are going on a day trip to Newbridge Silverware and various other places and stopping off at The Kildare Village Centre on our way back. The bus leaves The Sports Centre at 10a.m. on Thursday next 11th Oct. All members travelling have your seat booked by Tuesday 9th. Non members are also welcome to join us for what promises to be a good day out. Price is €25. A special thanks to all our members and visitors who supported our Tea morning for the Longford Hospice €135 was collected and forwarded to the Hospice, thank you.

The World Handball Championships are taking place in City West Hotel Conference Centre in Dublin commencing on the 11th October for two weeks. There are up to 3000 competitors from 33 nations around the world taking part in the games. Five of our Senior players are participating at Men’s B&C Level, in both 40X20 and One-Wall events.
