Card Drive: Scoil Bhride parents association will hold their annual 25 card drive on Friday 9th November at 8.30 in Scoil Bhride Glen. Eveeryone welcome, guaranteed to be an enjoyable night, €300 in prizes to be won. Free raffle and refreshments will be served.

Bereavement: Sympathy is extended the families relatives and friends of Peter Keenan Coolcaw and Joe Croash, Drumroe who died last week May they rest in peace.

Eucharist Adoration: In St. Brigid’s Church every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9pm.

Foroige Club: Registration for Ardagh Foroige club will take place on Friday 19th of October at 8pm in the Community centre. All young people in Secondary school are eligible to join. Registration costs €20 per member or €25 per Family. Foroige is one of the fundamental stepping stones for young people in Co. Longford. Please come along to registration night if you are interested in getting involved. Halloween Music Workshop: A Music Workshop will be held in Club Ardagh for Secondary School Students over the Halloween break. The workshop will focus on contemporary music with regard to performance, recording, song writing & music promotion. Dates: Tues Oct 30th from 7-9pm; Wed 31 Oct from 6-7:30pm; Thurs 1 Nov 7-9pm. Tutor: Barry Callan. Participant Fee: 25 euro for the three nights (this workshop is financially supported by the Local Youth Club Grant Scheme). The Club Ardagh website can be used to access information on Club Ardagh registration, opening hours, camps, closures and much more. A special word of thanks is sent to Club Ardagh Manager Carrie Belton for a terrific job in developing the website.

St. Brigid’s Gaels: We had our official launch on Sunday last, this proved to be a very enjoyable and successful occasion despite the weather. Our teams performed gallantly against a strong Carrickedmond team. There was a great turn out to support the teams and the launch. Thanks to all who provided the lovely refreshments which were enjoyed on the day. We would like to thank our special guest Dolores Kiernan Chairperson Longford LGFA for attending. Thanks to all who supported our club to get it up and running special thanks to our sponsors Pascal Lyons, Derek Sheridan, Michael and Catriona Hayden, John Mc Guinness, Gavin Duignan, Billy and Imelda Keenan, Longford LGFA. Special Thanks to st. Patricks senior and Minor clubs for their sponsorship and advice. Our new Jerseys were presented on the day and look very well. We would like to Thank Paul O’ Meara and Sean Powell and Pat Hayes who sponsored these. Thanks to Eamon Shannon and the Carrickedmond team for taking part in a challenge match this added to the day and thanks to Hugh O’ Kane for refereeing. Special thanks goes to all our wonderful coaches Monica Bannon, Eimear Powell, Ann Ryan, Louise Monaghan and to all our young members and their families for their commitment and support. We look forward to next year where no doubt our club will go from strength to strength.

Ardagh/Moydow/Glen Community Games: There was an excellent turn out at the AMG CG Youth club last Friday evening. Thanks to the parents who have already started to pitch in, many hands makes for a lighter load for all involved. All children are welcome every week to come and try the activities and see what they like the best. 7-8pm, cost €2 per child, €3 per family. Any ?s contact Eamon O’Kane 085-7136690. Selection sheets for 1st set of events are all due back as soon as possible, please return to Eamon O’Kane, Leslie Finnan, Brigette Scott or Noelle Gillen if you still have one to be handed in. The chess and draughts competitions will be starting in November so be sure to keep practicing in at home for the next few weeks. We are looking for TY students to help as young leaders at the Friday Youth Club. This would involve helping to set up in the Community Centre and then lending a hand, especially with board games and badminton.
