DEATH: Founders of LAPWD Sr Emmanuel Farrelly passed away. LAPWD member and friends are saddened to hear the news of the death of the foundress of LLAPD Sr Emmanuel Farrelly LAPWD hon president. Sr Emmanuel was born Patricia Farrelly in Aughavas Co Leitrim and passed away on July 23rd in Laurel Lodge Nursing home Longford. LPWD owes a great debt to Sr Emmanuel and the group of visionary supporters who recognised lack of supports for people with disabilities and introduced the philosphy of independent living to Leitrim. We convey our smpathy to her family and her community of Mercy sisters, as do her many past pupils of Marian College here in Mohill where Sr Emmanuel was former principal . Her dedication and good works were not in vain as many of her students have gone forward to make a name for themselves here and all over the world. Many people travelled from Mohill to her removal and concelebrated Mass which was a celebration of her great life. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Despite her illness she had time for everyone and her many qualities will be forever remembered. Those who live in grace go no further from us than to God.
