FISHING COMPETITION RESULTS: Results of the Harry Kinkade Memorial fishing competition that took place on Derries Lake on Sunday 20th May 1st Joe McDermott Longford; 2nd Michael Dalton Athlone; 3rd Terry Brennan Gowna; 4th Barry Darby,Mullingar;5th Tony McManus Loughduff. 14 boats participated Mrs Florence Kinkade wife of the late Harry presented the cup to the overall winner. Congratulations to Marty Cosworth Dring who recently won the Lough Rea International competition. Well done Marty great achievement.

WEDDING BELLS: Congratulations to Patrick Smith son of Paddy and Maureen Smith Corfree Loch Gowna and Denise Haughey Naas Co Kildare who were married on Wednesday 2nd May in Laois. We wish them many years of health and happiness on their married life together.

POSTPONED: The annual festival in aid of St Christophers school Longford that was to take place on Sunday 3rd June at Dring Car Park has been postponed until a later date.

SYMPATHY: We extend deepest sympathy to the Comaskey family Mullahoran on the recent death of their mother Mrs May Comaskey Mullahoran. May she rest in peace.
