COMMUNITY GAMES: The Community Games U14 Tag Rugby matches took place on 15th. May at Longford Rugby Club. There were four teams participating. Killoe A beat Ballymahon/Forgney in the final and received gold. The U14 Tag team are Katie Morrissey, Shona Rowley, Fiona Hebron, Gavin Hughes, Niall Farrelly, Jack Sorohan, Shane McManus, Shane Morrissey, Eamon Keogh and Ronan Moffett. Congratulations, well done and best of luck in the Leinster Rounds. Our U11 teams played their matches at the Rugby Club on the 17th. May. Seven Teams participated in all. Killoe A succeeded in taking Silver. Well done to all our teams. Many thanks to Steve Coy, Snr; Steve Coy, Jnr, Catherine Bracken and Mary Morrissey who helped out with training and managing these teams. On Monday the 14th of May, our Mixed U10 Gaelic teams played Ardagh in the County Final at Sean Connolly’s in Clonbroney. Killoe proved the stronger team and ended up taking gold. The U10 Gaelic team are Darren Moffett, Bernard Borland, Killian Feeney, Tomas Walsh, Jack Linnane, Gavin Farrelly, Kevin Hough, Oisin McManus, Shane Dooner, Jack Finneran, Jack Reichert, Zac Carr, Cian Reid Leonard, Brandon Reilly, David Moorhead, Joe Morrissey, Sean Clyne, Shane Gilna, Andrew Grant and Patrick Kennedy. Congratulations, well done and best of luck in the Leinster Rounds.

SYMPATHY: Sincere condolence is extended to Paddy Connell and families (formerly Springtown, Abbeylara Co Longford) Mickie and Bridie Kenny and families Clontumpher Killoe, Kenny families USA/UK on the sad bereavement of Paddy’s wife Rosaleen (nee Kenny formerly of Clontumpher Killoe Co Longford)who was recently laid to rest. The parish express sympathy to Rosaleen’s husband Paddy,sons Henry, Jimmy, daughter Ann-Marie Kenny and Connell brothers, sisters brothers/sisters in law extended relatives, friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated in Manhattan, New York with burial afterwards in Long Island New York . May she rest peacfully.

MOTOR NEURONE ASSOCIATON: The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association wish to thank everyone who contributed to their recent church gate collection totaling 645 euro in the Killoe parish. NOvena: Sacred Heary Novena commences on Thursday 7th June 2012 in St Oliver’s Cullyfad. Novena and Rosary nightly at 9.30pm except for Friday night June 15th Feast of the Sacred Heart when Novena will finish with Mass and the Novena prayers at 8pm. The Novena coincides with the Eucharistic Congress and takes up the theme of the Congress. So what a great way to join together in prayer. Everyone most welcome.

CANCER RESEARCH: A fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research Ireland will take place in the Olde Forge this Sunday night, June 3. Music by Connie Reilly and special guests. Admission is optional and all support is greatly appreciated.
