CENTENARY: Centenary of the Canon Donoghue Memoral Hall. Next weekend 26th ,27th ,28th August the people of Mohill will be celebrating the centenary of the Canon Donoghue Memorial Hall where down through the years was the place to dance our cares away, attend the various entertainments that were always coming to town and it was the centre of most parish events such as the Vincent de Paul, Legion of Mary and Pioneers. In recent years the hall has been transformed by a very hard working committee who has brought it up to date and made it a great place for all functions. The launch of the centenary book and the launch of Mohill phone directory 2011 – 2012 will take place at 8.30pm . There will be a ecumenical service to remember the late Canon Donoghue RIP and wine cheese reception on Saturday at 1.30pm .Under 12 fancy dress 2pm , 5pm Family Fund day , 9pm social evening. Music by Looney Hoppers. On Sunday 2nd annual Honda 50 run will register at the Canon Donoghue Hall. Taking off at 12.15pm. Returning at 3pm. Raffle bikers prizes kindly sponsored by the Landmark Hotel and at 8.30 variety night in the Hall. MC Charlie McGettigan.

SHOW DAY 2011: In reasonable weather conditions the 84th annual agricultural show day at McGowans field and sports complex Mohill was very successful. There were a good number of entries in all sections with judging starting at 10.30am – 6pm. In the complex centre it was lovely to see the beautiful flowers plants , arts and crafts vegetables not forgetting the delicious cookies all there to delight the eye and win the praise of the judges. Visitors also enjoyed the Cossack stunt rider display, Pets corner grandfather toys vintage class face painting dog show baby show, little miss Mohill. Best dressed lady glamour granny not forgetting driving for style and appearance which ended a day full of surpirses and joy at meeting old friends for a cuppa and the craic .It was nice to meet Willie Ann McHugh T Mulhern Anita & Riona Kelly, Peter Gordon, Main Pendergast,T Shanley Sonny Mahon, Brian Mahon,, P Griffin The Duighnam sisters, the Reynolds family and many many more who were all enjoying themselves. Thanks to the organising committee and the loyal generous sponsors for making show day 2011.
