SPONSORED CYCLE: Whitehall Community Group are organising a Sponsored Cycle which will take place on Sunday next, June 19th. The event will start off from Ringtown GAA Complex, Whitehall, at 12.00 noon, and is open to all age groups. All participants must wear a cycle helmet. entry fee is 10.00 euro for adults and 20.00 euro for family groups. Sponsorship cards are currently in circulation. TEA DAY: The recent Alzheimers Tea Day which was held in The Coffee Shop, Fore, was very successful, realising 1118.07 euro in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Congratulations and very well done to all students and staff of Castlepollard Community College on being awarded the second Green Flag for Energy recently.

ROAD CLOSURES: Westmeath County Council will be carrying out essential road maintenance in the coming weeks, and some local roads will be closed in carrying out these works. Local residents and businesses are reminded to check the local press for details, and to contact the local area office at Castlepollard Library for further information.

HOME SECURITY: Local residents are reminded to check all windows and doors are secured prior to leaving home, even if only for a short time. Alarm systems should be activated when going out, and all keys should be placed out of sight when not required.
