TIDY TOWNS: Resting time for our Tidy Towns’ crew? I think not. There are still bits and pieces that need doing and we will continue to meet through the summer months. At this point a huge thank you to all who responded to the call for action on the kerb appeal: the hanging baskets and window boxes are looking lovely and it is great to see so many. The kerbs are all weed free and we need to keep them litter and cigarette butt free as well. We got our new litter bins during the week and hope they will be used often and appropriately. Our Church Gate Collection takes place this Saturday and Sunday the 18th & 19th, please be as generous as you can. All of the money collected goes back into making the village a place that we are proud to live in and proud to welcome visitors to. We ask all to be vigilant and exercise zero tolerance against litter; the new planting and new signage around the village needs to be protected from those who do not value it and we need all our community to help us maintain the standard we have now. Check out Drumlish Tidy Towns on Facebook and also report any litter/cigarette or dog fouling to Longford Litter Hotline 1850 434 450.
