Active Age: Chairperson Tess Gallogly presided at last Wednesday’s weekly meeting of the Group. Preparations were made for the forthcoming visit to Lustybeg Island on Lough Erne. All are asked to be present at this week’s meeting.

Victory: Two young local players enjoyed their moments in Páirc Seán on Sunday last. On a day when Roscommon scored an emphatic win over Leitrim in the Connacht Championship Dylan Mimna and Seán McGirl were given an opportunity to display their football talents on juvenile Leitrim teams, and contributed to two victories over the “Rossies”. Dylan, playing at corner forward on the Leitrim for the Leitrim U-14 Development squad, picked off two fine points. A member of the Drumlea school team Aughoo’s Peter McGirl playing on the Leitrim Cumann na mBunscoileanna selection contributed two goals and four points to his side’s total in their win over their counterparts from west of the Shannon.
