COLLECTION: Next weekend there will be a church gate collection at all masses for the Hillside Club/Social Services . Proceeds to to help finance the annual senior citizens outing. Details relating to this outing will be available shortly. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Host day of club is Wed week.

LOTTO: Numbers drawn 7, 10, 12, 15. Jackpot winner of 15000 euro to Jimmy Flynn Soran . Congrats to Jimmy on his great win. Sellers prize Seamus Maguire. The jackpot now starts at 2000 euro. Draw for month of June on Monday nights in Farrells at 9.30pm . Envelopes cost 2 euro or 3 or 3 euro.

GAA: Well done to the Sean Connollys senior team on their great win over St Mary’s on Friday night last. Scoreline 11pts – 8pts. They have 2 games left in their group against neighbours Mostrim and Emmet Og in the coming weeks. They play in the reserve league tonight Wed. Check fixtures list.

FASHION SHOW: A fashion show in memory of the late Anne Quinn Drumlish will take place on Friday night in O’Reillys Lounge. Adm 10 euro. All the proceeds are in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation. The night starts at 8pm with hair and beauty demonstration.

CEMETERY SUNDAY: This year will be celebrated on Sunday June 26th . Prayers in St Emers will take place immediately after 11am Mass. Mass in St James at 3pm followed by prayers and blessing of graves. Please take away all refuse when tidying graves.

TIDY TOWNS: Judging for this competition takes place during June and July. We ask all householders to help with keeping the village and all approach roads in good shape. Fundraiser of the local tidy towns will take place on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Ducks will be on sale shortly for the Duck Derby which will take place on the Sunday evening. This years format will have heats followed by the final with a cash prize for the winner. More details later.

FINE GAEL: Many thanks to all who contributed to the national church gate collection at the weekend.

VHI CUL CAMP: The annual GAA Summer camp takes place in Maguire Park July 4-8 for 6 - 13 year olds. 10am – 2.30pm.Cost per child. 55 euro Additional children 45 euro. There are also nursery camps for 4-5 year olds. Cost 30 euro. Application forms available in the post office.

FONE FOR FIBS: Just a reminder re our collection of old used mobile phones to provide a defibrillator for our community. Please drop them into the Post Office or to the local National School.

BABY BOY: Congrats to Michael and Pauline Horan (nee Tully) Corlinan on the birth of their first child a baby boy.

MASS: The McEvoy family Kiltyclough are having mass celebrated on Sat morn next at 9.30am in Holy Trinity Church for all who sympathised and supported them following the untimely death of Oonagh McEvoy RIP.

YOUTH SERVICE: The County Longford Youth Service annual Summer camp takes place in Ballinalee July 18th - 22nd for 10 – 18 year olds. Bookings 043 3340907.

ST CHRISTOPHERS: The collectors and all associated with St Christophers Services wish to thank most sincerely all who supported the recent annual Church gate collection. Total collected amounted to 429.25 euro. Which is very much appreciate.

BLOOD CLINIC: Longford Arms Hotel today Wed 15th and Thursday 16 4.30 – 8pm. 3000 units of blood are needed each day in our hositals with transfusions needed for cancer and trauma patients, new born babies planned and emergency surgery. Please become a donor.

WEDDING BELLS: The pretty wedding took place on Sat last of Pascal son of Anne and the late Gerry Hennessy Castlebrack and Catherine daughter of John and Mary Barry Coleen Co Cork at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Patrick. The celebrant was Fr Alan O’Leary Matron of honour was Linda Madden and bridesmaids Sinead Deasy and Siobhan O’Mahony. Bestman was Eamon Conlon and groomsmen Patrick Hennessy and Eamon Brady. Page boy was Cathal Madden. Music by Arundo. All the guests enjoyed a beautiful meal in the Dunmore House Hotel Clonakilty and danced the night away. We wish them health and happiness in heir new life and home.
