WEDDING: Congratulations to Damien Drake, son of Seamus and Una Drake Rathbracken and Pauline Egan, Kenagh who were married in St. Dominic’s Church Kenagh on Saturday June 4th last. The wedding ceremony was performed by the bride’s cousin Fr. Francis Hanlon and he was assisted by Fr. Tom Barden and Fr. Simon Cadam. Pauline had Fiona Egan, Roisin Rynn and Olwyn King as her bridesmaids while Damien had Liam Egan as his bestman and James Drake and Pete McNerney were groomsmen. The flower girls were Niamh Grace Egan and Zara Drake and the page boys were Bernard Egan and Jack Drake. Following the ceremony the bridal party and their guests were treated to a beautiful meal and danced the night away in the Glasson Golf Hotel.
NEW BABY: Congratulations to James and Aishling Drake Dublin on the birth of their baby boy on Tuesday last. The new arrival to the Drake family is a welcome grandson for Seamus and Una Drake Rathbracken so we congratulate the proud grandparents also.
ANNIVERSARY: On Monday night June 20th next the Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a host of well known artists appearing on the night. As usual all proceeds will go to Cancer Care Research, St. Christopher’s in Longford and AwareTickets are on sale at the hotel reception.
NEW BABY: Congratulations to Karen and Kevin O’Leary in Kerry on the birth of their second child,a boy on Friday last. The new arrival is to be named Ronan and he is a welcome brother for Conor and grandson for Kieran and Marian Masterson, Ballymorris.
BAKE SALE: The young women’s group from Lus Na Greine are holding a Bake Sale on Sunday June 19th next from 10am to 1-00pm in the Lus Na Greine centre on main street.The group will appreciate any home baking and purchases on the day.Cakes etc can be left into the centre on Friday June 17th from 9-30 to 5-00pm or on Saturday morning from 10am to 12 noon or on the morning of the sale.

SCHOOL SCÓR: On Sunday evening last the county final of school Scór was held in the sacred heart school in Granard and a great evening of entertainment was enjoyed by the large crowd in attendance. It was just brilliant to watch all the youngsters performing and we congratulate everyone of them as they were all winners on the day and it is very encouraging to know that there is so much talent out there and we hope that some of it will be tapped in on put on display for all. Well done to the teachers and parents who prepared the children for this competition.
