Under 8s Blitz

U-8s have a blitz in Drumlish tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm and please have the children there at 6.45pm.

We held a very enjoyable and fun filled meeting on Tuesday last, thanks to all for attending and participating, good nights ahead if Tuesday was anything to go by. Our self defence classes finished up with all participants passing with flying colours, thanks again to Anne for her time and patience with us, now what can we get up to next? Watch this space for more of our antics. We have one class left with Patricia and hopefully we can arrange some more at a later date. Our next meeting takes place on Tuesday 2nd of June at 8.30 pm and as this is our last meeting before the summer break anything could happen so come along and join us, plenty of room for new and past members and you then have a chance to see if ICA is for you, if not, no harm done and you can enjoy a nice cuppa with us.

Tidy Towns

The time has arrived again for us to start looking at work that needs to be done before adjudication in the month of June. If you have plans for any painting or gardening jobs around your own property perhaps you would consider doing it sooner rather than later. The village is looking very well & a lot has been achieved over the winter months. The Castle entrance has been upgraded by Longford County Council and when the new planting is completed it will be a lovely colourful area in the centre of the village.  Work continues in front of St Mary’s Church and is expected to be completed shortly.  The Playground Committee has been very busy and work is expected to start on the site within the next few weeks with a completion date early in the summer.  Our Tuesday evening work continues every week meeting at the Parish Hall at 7.30pm. Please support us in whatever way you can, by coming out and getting involved in various projects which will give a great boost to the Tidy Towns volunteers.

A fundraising evening will be held in Lough Rynn Castle for Console - The National Suicide Charity on Saturday 23rd May 2015 at 8:30pm. So many of us have been directly or indirectly impacted by ill mental health and indeed suicide. This is an evening to raise awareness about Console –it was established in 2002 by Paul Kelly after he had experienced the grief of losing a loved one by Suicide. Since then Console has developed into a National Organisation supporting people in Suicidal Crisis and those Bereaved by Suicide through Professional Counselling, Support and Helpline Services. Please join us for an evening in the elegant surroundings of the Baronial Hall. Relax and enjoy a champagne reception with wine, finger food, fabulous prizes and great entertainment. Tickets cost €30 and can be bought from the hotel reception or by contacting any of the members of the organizing committee. If you cannot attend but would like to help in anyway with sponsorship or prizes please let any of the committee members know. Thanks in advance for any support you can give the event.
