We apologise for the non appearance of notes last week. For some reason there was a break down in email transmission.
It was with deep regret that we learned of the death of Ollie Kiernan, Mullinroe which occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Longford on Saturday, 28th February last. Suffering from a serious illness, he passed away peacefully in the loving care of his family and hospital staff. He was a gentleman of quiet disposition who was admired and highly respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a most obliging neighbour, always ready to help out when called upon. An excellent tradesman, he was noted for his craftsmanship at plastering, painting and woodwork. One of Ollie’s favourite hobbies was fishing. He was always contented with a rod and line on a lakeshore. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and the many people he became acquainted with down through the years. His remains were removed to St. Columba’s Church on Sunday evening. Funeral to local cemetery followed requiem Mass on Monday. The late Ollie is survived by his brother Sean, sister Anne, sister-in-law Bernadette, niece Emma, grandniece Andrea and cousins to whom we extend our sympathy. May he rest in peace.
