Sincere sympathy is extended to the O’Neill families, Millbrook Lawn, Bantry Cork on the sad bereavement of their mother, Olive (nee Reynolds late of Corlea, Killoe, wife of late John and daughter of the late Michael Francis and Kathleen Reynolds, Corlea) who was laid to rest on Monday last. The parish express condolence to Olive’s sons, Kevin, Paul, daughters Tara, Angela, grandchildren, sisters Kathleen, Eileen, Anna, Theresa, son/daughters-in-law, brothers/sisters-in-law extended families, friends and neighbours. Requiem mass was celebrated in St Finbar’s Church, Bantry with burial in the Abbey cemetery, Bantry, Co Cork. May you rest in peace Olive.

A luxurious reception enjoyed by everyone was held in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Co Westmeath. Also congrats to Freda Nevin, Ballincurry, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with John Lawless, Oran, Co Roscommon, joined by families and friends in St Mary’s Church, Ennybeg,s Killoe. The Blood donor clinic will be visiting the Longford Arms Hotel, Longford on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 December from 4.30pm – 8pm. Three thousand blood donations are required in Ireland on a weekly basis and blood cannot be stored or frozen for a period longer than 25 days. Do make the effort to help others.

A charity cycle of 50km and 20km will be held on Friday, 26th December starting at John Donoghue’s pub Corner House Granard with registration from 9am. The 50km starts at 10am and the 20km at 11am. Refreshments will be served midway/afterwards. All proceeds in aid of Breege Gallagher Memorial Granard with funds presented to the Palliative Care Longford. Everyone is welcome to participate and support this worthy cause.
There will be a Community Games Youth disco on Saturday, 3rd January in Ennybegs Community Centre at 9- 10.30. Spot prizes on the night. Please support this Killoe Community Games fundraiser. Under 11 and under 13 Basketball training for boys and girls will start back on Thursday, 8th January in Drumlish Community Centre from 7.30-8.30. Please note that under 11 need to be over 9 by 31st July 2006 and under 13 must be over ten by 31st July 2005. Congratulations to Kevin and Bridie Prunty on the birth of their grand-daughter. Congrats also to their daughter, Karen and partner Thomas.

Santa Party: The most important day of the year in Cullyfad is almost here. It’s the Cullyfad Santa party on Sunday, 21st December at 2.30pm and Santa Claus is coming. Now this is a very busy time of year for Santa so we cannot delay him. Therefore we will all be in the Community Centre at 2.30pm and ready to meet Santa. It will be a great party, Ho! Ho! Ho!
Bingo: Our last bingo of 2014 on this Wednesday night at 8.30pm with the bonus number now worth €1,320 and another €720 to be won on “Spin the Wheel”. Christmas prizes on every game.
