Pretty Drumreilly/Belfast Wedding

The wedding took place on April 25th of Mr. Noel O’Rourke, son of Seán and the late Patricia O’Rourke, Derrygoan and Miss Póla Lynch, daughter of Jim and Marie Lynch, Belfast. The ceremony was performed by Fr. Darragh Molloy. The Lessons from Sacred Scripture were taken by Frances Leckey, Sydney Chute, Aoife O’Rourke, Ella O’Rourke and Piarais Finucane. The bride was attended by Matron of Honour Karisa Maciaf and bridesmaids Louise Lynch, Catherine Lynch, Heather Westgaard and Emma Cassidy. Pat Connolly was Best Man and the groomsmen were Declan O’Rourke, Seán O’Rourke and Ollie Galligan. Isabella Leckey and Caoimhe Finucane were the Flowergirls. Following the reception, which was held in Belleek Castle, the guests disported themselves at an enjoyable Dance and Disco to the music of The Bentley Boys. We wish Noel and Póla along married life of happiness.

Active Age

The words of the song “You’re never too old to feel young at heart” were given expression on the maple floor in Drumreilly Community Centre when The Drumreilly Active Age Group were joined by Groups from Fenagh, Gortletteragh, Annaduff/ Drumsna, Mohill, Cloone/Aughavas, Aughnasheelin, Ck on Shannon, Killeshandra, Templeport and Dromard to dance the night away to the excellent music of Francie at the Bealtaine Social on Tuesday of last week. The organisers wish to express their thanks to all who contribute to a night of jollity.

Your support is sought for the collection in aid of Carrigallen/Drumreilly Care of the Age organisation will be held at the church gates following Mass in Carrigallen, Drumreilly and Drumeela next weekend following the masses in the three churches next Saturday/Sunday, May 31st and June 1st.

Community Centre A.G.M.

The Drumreilly Community Centre Committee members held their annual

stocktaking event with the election of officers on Monday of last week. The meeting opened with the reading of the Committee’s Constitution, this to be followed by the reading of the minutes of the 2013 A.G. and the presentation of the Financial Report. The officers elected for the coming year are as follows: Chairperson: Tommy Connolly; Vice-Chairperson: Frances O Reilly; Secretary: Karl McCartin; Asst. Secretary: Marese McKernan; Treasurers: Bernadette Grimes and John McGirl; P.R.O: Pat Conefrey, Shop Managers: Eileen and Sinéad McGovern. In a short meeting which followed the election of officers the following were discussed: External and interior painting

and other repairs.

U-12 League

A superior Annaduff side prevailed over Garadice Gaels on a score of

2-8 to 2-3 at Carrickmakeegan on Monday of last week. The Garadice panel included Evonne Quinn, Siobhán Maguire, Ella Stringer, Ella Quinn, Conor Edwards (0-1), Eoghan Shanley, Oníosa Mimna, Oisín Conefrey, Síomha Quinn (2-1), Cian Connolly, Ciara Mannion, Caoimhe Prior (0-1), Molly Prior, Ella Galligan Maguire, Caitlin Quinn and Andrew McNiff.


Sympathy is extended to the sisters and other relatives of Drumbrick resident, the late Donal Murray, whose remains were laid to rest on Friday last following Mass of the Resurrection in St. Mary’s Church, Drumeela. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
