Ladies Mini Marathon
Any ladies in the parish who would be interested in doing the Flora Ladies Mini Marathon in Dublin on Bank Holiday Monday, June 2nd to raise much needed funds towards Gortletteragh Community Playgroup please contact Josie Dorrigan.
The Mock Wedding
On behalf of Gortletteragh National School in association with Gortletteragh Drama Group, we wish to thank everybody who attended the “Mock Wedding” play in Gortletteragh Community Centre on Friday, 13th of December 2013. Thank you to everyone who gave donations towards the fundraiser who could not attend on the night. No event can take place without advertising and we sincerely wish to thank Sean Reynolds (Drumhirk) and his Company Alphaset Ltd, Limerick who came to our aid and produced an amazing design and printing service for the Billboards and Posters for which we are very grateful. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Sean continued success in his business in Limerick. Also a sincere thank you to Gavin Mitchell of Mitchell Meats, Drumlish for his generous sponsorship on the night. Thank you to Mel Crowe for all his help and time in the lead up to the night, Eamon Reynolds of Big Apple Videos, Declan Gaffney, Photographer, John Joe Higgins and the Strawboys, our Baritone Player Paul Mugridge, the stewards who took care of parking on the night, all the kitchen staff, food servers, ticket sellers, door staff and parents for all their help and hard work organising the hall for the play, it was much appreciated, our M.C. on the night Oliver Naughton, Gortletteragh G.A.A. for the use of the hall, Ballinamuck and Drumlish Hall Committees for providing us with chairs and benches from your halls for the occasion, Ciaran McNulty, Micheal McGarry,Oliver McManus and Frank Niblock for all your hard work getting the hall and stage prepared for the night and Caroline Quinn for her regular updates on Facebook and Colette Crowe our Make-up Artist for transforming the cast members on the night. As there was so many people involved helping out in the background for the six weeks leading up to the play who are too numerous to mention we wish to thank you sincerely for all your input and hard work. Yes I Am
‘YES I AM’- Just one of the new songs being performed by the Mohill based Sweet Spirit Gospel Choir on Friday 4th April 2014 at 8.30pm in St. George’s Church/Heritage Centre, Carrick-On-Shannon. The newly formed Quartet and Quintet within the choir will perform some beautiful new songs. Three original songs composed by Tish Dunleavy will each be performed by Regina O’Carolan, Maryann McBrien and Pearl Kielty supported by the choir. The show will commence at 8.30pm and will finish at 10.30pm. Come along and enjoy this lovely musical evening.
Closing date for entries to the County Leitrim Fleadh Ceoil is 28th March. This includes entries for all instruments, singing, comhra gaeilge, duets, trios, all solo and dancing teams, bands and grupai ceoil. There will be strictly no late entries, all competitors must be printed in the fleadh booklet. There are six comhaltas branches in Leitrim. Please ensure you are a registered member of a comhaltas branch.
