The annual Christmas hamper draw was held on Thursday, 19th December and the winners were: 1st prize bumper Christmas hamper Keith O’Halleran, 2nd Prize €100 Liam Victory, 3rd Prize €50 Ella O’Reilly. There was also spot prizes on the night many of which were kindly donated by people such as Kenny Plant Hire, Connacht Gold, Billy Moran Plant Sales, Kearney’s Bar, O’Boyle’s Bar, Fallon’s Hardware, James Farrell Plant Hire, David Mulvihill Firearms, Kelleher’s Bar, Ganley’s Hardware and many more. We also had a land owners draw in appreciation of all those who kindly give use of their property to shooters thought the year and the winner of that was James McGrane. (Connacht Gold Voucher). AMG Community Games
Friday evening Youth Activities have recommenced, 7-8 pm in the Ardagh Community Centre. All children who want to participate in the upcoming activities please come and register. Hand in your list with the events you want to enter ASAP. Chess, Badminton, Draughts, Table Tennis, Indoor Soccer & Table Quiz all starting NOW so don’t delay. Great news for 2014! If you attend national school in Ardagh you can sign up to compete in Ardagh\Moydow Community Games with your school friends. Healthy Events 2014
A few new parents interested in helping with this project for 2014 are urgently needed. Children & adults will definitely benefit from the positive health promotion aspect we will be bringing to all our activities. Ardagh 10 Mile Challenge & 5K Fun Run
Thank you to all who volunteered and lent a hand in any way to make the 2nd Annual Run a success: setting the course, road stewards, bike riders, registration, time keepers, making/donations of food, serving refreshments ALL very much appreciated. Thanks especially to St Patrick’s GAA, Carrigys Bus, Sherpack, KC Creations, DJ Mick Nash & Vaughan’s Daybreak, and all the local support from runners and walkers who came out to get the New Year off to a healthy start. 73 runners in 10 mile Challenge winning time 1:00:12, 95 runners in 5K winning time 20:00 & 19 walkers, grand total 187 participants which is an increase from last year. Irish Dancing Classes
Irish Dancing classes will resume in Ardagh Community Centre on Tuesday, 14th January. Beginners welcome at 5pm or 6.30pm. Fees for the classes are €4.50 per child per lesson with an overall family rate of €10 per class per family, with further reductions for children who pay by the month. Parents welcome to stay at classes if they so wish. No wigs, fake tans or make-up for dancers. Contact Maureen on 086 370 2719.
Adult Irish Dancing Classes
Adult Irish dancing classes take place in Ardagh Community Centre commencing Tuesday, 14th January at 7.30pm. This is a chance to learn the steps to help your child, dance for enjoyment or relearn your dances from your childhood days. €5 per class per adult. Contact Maureen 086 370 2719.
