A reminder to check the Longford Warmer Homes Ltd website and facebook page to see if you are eligible for free attic and cavity insulation before the winter rush sets in. Call 043 3393255 Longford Warmers Homes have now a dedicated facebook page to help get the word out that this free insulation service is available to those that qualify for it.

Heritage week

There will be a ‘Walk and Talk’ in conjunction with heritage week at Kilcommac cemetery on Friday 23rd August at 7.30pm. All are welcome.

High nellies

There will be a ‘High Nellie” bike outing in Ballymahon next Saturday August 24th at 2pm in conjunction with heritage week. All high nellie enthusiasts are asked to assemble at the new library on or before 2pm. There are also many more more events organised for the day. There will be a parade at 3pm. Also busking , craft work, vintage window display, farmers market and walking tours of the town. The Leo Casey concert planned for the library on Thursday Aug 22nd is also a novel attraction with a great line up of artists on stage. Doors open at 7.30pm with first item sharp at 8’clock. There will also be a shop window display running for the whole week. Corlea Centre will also have a display of vintage artifacts from Wednesday onwards.

Progressive 25

Winners at St Dominic’s Centre last Thursday night were Tom and partner 14 games , Niall and Liz eleven games. Table prizes Jimmy and Mary, Bridie and Dan win twenty euro each. Raffle: Simon Boland, Betty Gerety, Michael Carroll, Josie Connaughton, Niall Hughes, Ivan Jones, all win ten euros.


The numbers drawn in Kenagh GAA Lotto for August 18th were 4, 5, 17, 21. There were three match three winners - Patricia Harrison, Kenagh; Larry Grouden, Glasson and Niamh and Alan, c/o Kearneys Pub, all win thirty euro each.
