Congratulations to Mrs Anne (Doe) Sheridan, Urney on the celebration of her birthday at the weekend. Family members relatives neighbours and friends came together at her home to celebrate the great occasion. A native of Oldcastle, Co Meath, ‘Doe’ as she is known to her countless friends married local farmer Thomas Sheridan, now deceased fifty eight years ago this week and the couple set up their home at Urney where they were extremely popular. Blessed with a family of four Thomas P Sheridan (Dept of Health), Anne Gallon BA NT, Bernadette McEvoy BA NT and Mary Lawlor BA H -Dip in Ed, Doe Sheridan is one of natures kindest ladies whose courtesy friendship and kindness to her neighbours (one being the writer of this column) is much appreciated and will for all time be remembered. A member of the highly respected Tully family , all join in wishing Mrs Sheridan many years of good health and happiness.
Continues reasonably good with a mixture of good sunshine and showers. However darkness is creeping into the evenings which is a reminder that the season of Autumn is now with us.
This weekend sees the departure from our neighbouring parish of Denn of Rev Liam Kelly PP having ministered in the parish for a numbers of years where he was deservedly popular. In wishing Father Kelly Bon Voyage may we extend a warm cead mile failte to his successor Rev Peter McKiernan PP.
The glorious weather welcomed by those resident in our country during the summer months has been of enormous benefit in attracting visitors to Ireland with people from many continents choosing our country for their summer holiday which in turn is a major boost to our country’s finances.
