COUNTRY MARKETS SEEK ACCOMMODATION: Longford County Council has at last secured funding for refurbishing the Market House which will afford increasing space and enhanced facilities for the library.
This improvement to our towns infrastructure is of course most welcome, but sadly may also sound the death nail for another well known institution, The Country Markets. For 34 years, The country Market has provided a unique service to the town and many great friendships have been made over the years, but we are advised that we have to vacate the market house by July 31st. We are anxiously seeking alternative accommodation, ideally for just a few hours on Friday mornings but we are open to change to the day or time. Maybe you have a premises that you feel may be suitable, or know of somewhere, if so we would like you to contact Ann or Eileen at 086 3115544 or 087 9587326. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many loyal and devoted customers, who have kindly supported us over the years and we hope to be able to serve you for many more years to come.
