SCHOOLS FINAL: Well done to the St Mels U16 team who defeated Cnoc Mhuire in the schools finals played at our grounds recently. Dessie Reynolds (captain) and Daniel Columb were members of the team.

CROKE PARK: Best of luck to the Longford county senior hurlers who play in the Lory Meagher final on this Saturday at 12 noon against Warwickshire. Keith Molihan Aughamore is on the panel. They recently won the Div 3 B National league title defeating Sligo.

PONY SHOW: The annual Connemara Pony Show takes place this Sunday with the parade through the village at 1.30pm.There are more attractions for the family on the show field with craft and produce stalls, bouncy castles, pony rides, penalty shoot competition , guess the weight. Well done to all the organising committee for their continued good work.
MACEOIN WEEKEND: The time for the unveiling by an Taoiseach Enda Kenny is 2pm on Sunday June 16th. On Thursday evening we will have the opening of an exhibition in conjunction with Longford County Library in the Thomas Ashe Hall. This will run for Friday and Saturday. On Saturday afternoon the forge at Kilshrewley will be in operation and guns from the period. This will be followed by a mock battle between the Old IRA and Black and Tans. On Sat night Martin Morris county historian will give a talk followed by a Q and A session.
FUNDRAISER: The organising committee of the MacEoin weekend are holding a fundraising Irish night in Farrells lounge on Sat 15th June. Please support to help with costs incurred for the weekend events.
