Hillside Wheelers: Hillside Wheelers Cycling Club will be holding the ‘Tour of the 3 Provinces’ on 22nd June starting at 9am at the community centre in Aughnacliffe with registration from 8am on the day and everyone is welcome. Registration fee is €25. The tour distance is approx. 135km taking in parts of Longford, Leitrim and Cavan along the way. We will also be holding a 35km ‘Fun Cycle’ starting at 2pm from the community centre which is ideal for families or anyone starting out cycling. Registration fee is €10. All under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Proceeds will go to the Irish Kidney Association and Leebeen Park.
Colmcille Garden Club: The above are holding their annual Car Boot Sale on Sunday 14th July at Colmcille Community Centre at 11 am. Bookings are now being taken for cars and vans, the cost of entry is €5 which is payable in advance. To book phone 087 9402831.
Titanic Experience and Stormont Parliament: A proposed day trip to the above is leaving Longford on Tuesday 25th June at 8am. Approx. cost bus and entrance is €35, subject to numbers. Colmcille G.F.C. Lotto: There was one winner of the May 26th lotto draw. Congratulations to Thomas Murtagh, Fostra on winning the €7,150 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 17, 22 and 29. The jackpot now stands at €500. Envelopes are available in all usual outlets.
Date For Your Diary: As part of the Gathering the Parishioners of St Thomas’ Church Columbkille are holding a ‘Homecoming’ service in St Thomas’ on Sunday 4th August at 3pm. Followed by afternoon tea in the church grounds. A warm welcome is extended to all our neighbours, friends and members of the wider community. More details nearer the time.
Colmcille Ploughing Association: The above will be holding it’s A.G.M. on Thursday 6th June at 10pm in Martagh’s Bar Aughnacliffe. All are welcome to attend and it is hoped a big crowd will turn out. The Annual Colmcille Ploughing and Heritage Day will Take place on 18th August on the lands of Gene and Bernadette Reilly, Smear. There will be plenty of fun on the day including traditional butter making and many more attractions that preserve our heritage. There will be a Tug of War tournament on the day in association with the Gortletteragh Tug of War Association. There will also be a presentation to Smear Tug of War Team on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their participation in the All Ireland Championships.

Ballinalee Connemara Pony Show: The above annual pony show will take place next Sunday, 9th June including a parade through the village of Ballinalee and the Rose of the Show with plenty of other family fun and attractions on the day.
Attack the Tax: An information meeting on how to protect yourself from the Property Tax will be held in the Mostrim Arms, Edgeworthstown on Thursday, 6th June at 7pm sharp. All are welcome.
