PLAYGROUND & COMMUNITY PARK CLOSED: The RCD have contractors in who started work on the community Park and they are asking that parents inform their children to keep out of the park and Play ground until all work is completed. This is a Health & Safety issue and there will be large machines working so for the safety of all please make sure your children are aware of the dangers and respect that they have to stay out of the community field and Playground until all is finished. There is no insurance in place for the play ground or park that allows the public in to use for recreational use at present.

Lotto: Next draw is Monday 10th June. Last draw was held on Monday 27th May and the numbers drawn were 13, 14, 17 & 27, there was no jackpot winner so the €30 drawn winners were Declan o Connor, Martina Gilchrist, Jacqueline Sheridan. Tickets can be brought in Rathowen Post Office, Connaughton’s Pub, along with several people selling. If you would like to sell a book please contact Peter or Liz on 6676189. It’s worth buying a ticket and remember if you’re not in you can’t win!!!!!

BBQ IN AID OF M.S. IRELAND & BUNBROSNA GAA: The recent BBQ & Pig Roast in aid of M.S. Ireland and Bunbrosna G.A.A. held in Feerick’s Hotel on 25th May was a huge success. Andrew Whitney (Lord Mayor Candidate) would like to sincerely thank John Feerick and his staff for the use of his premises and for providing much of the delicious food on the night. Also John and Patricia for roasting and preparing the pig. A big thanks to Sean and William Murphy who sponsored the pig. There was a great crowd on the night and we would like to thank all those who bought and indeed sold tickets for the event and all those who helped or provided sponsorship, too numerous to mention. A special word of thanks also to the committee who worked so hard on this and all of the previous events.

CEMETERY SUNDAY: Rathaspic cemetery Sunday is next week the 9th at 3pm.

ATTACK THE TAX PUBLIC MEETING: An ‘Attack The Tax’ public information meeting on how to legally and lawfully protect yourself against the Property Tax will take place in the Mostrim Arms on Thursday, 6th June at 7pm sharp. All are welcome

DAY TRIP AWAY: Titanic Experience and Stormont Parliament, proposed day trip leaving Longford on Tuesday 25th June 8am for above. Approx cost bus and entrance €35, subject to numbers. All welcome, children must be accompanied by adult. Details, evening only, Rosemary 0877589287
