MR BRIAN GAFFNEY: There was general regret with the news of the death of Mr Brian Gaffney Costruce Ballinagh. A well known local resident Brian had more than his share of ill health over the past number of years but despite that was out around the town every day among family and friends. To his family and relatives I extend the sympathy of our community. The funeral which was largely attended took place on Friday following requiem mass in St Felims Church Ballinagh to the family burial ground. Rev Peter Casey PP officiated . May his soul rest in peace.
WEATHER: has been bitterly cold with a very severe North East Wind which many believe is the coldest spell in the past twenty five years. Many residents are suffering from heavy colds and all are advised to stay indoors and keep as warm as possible during the current cold snap.
