Pike Anglers: Priors Cup on Saturday 23rd March on St John’s Lake – 1s Mick Crosby, 9lbs 13ozs; 2nd Ollie Gallagher 6lb 8oz; 3rd Dave Crosby, 5lb 15ozs. It was a very cold and windy day with a bitterly east wind and few pike were caught. But thanks to John Anthony medicinal compound blood was keep circulating and limbs were saved. The Conger Blanked again. Congratulations to Sean Murray who is the new Master Angler of 2013 -14. He also wins the Cup for Heaviest Pike. Not last but least many thanks to David and the Poor Scholar whose hospitality throughout the year is very much appreciated. Best wishes and good health to all members.

Film Hour: On Tuesday 2nd April @ 7.30pm, come along to Ballinamore Library sit back relax and enjoy a film on our big screen. This time library staff have chosen the film (details of which are available by contacting the library at 071 9645566) however next time around people will be able to discuss and choose what film they would like to see. All Ireland Indoor Athletics: Congratulations to the girls of 5th & 6th class of SN Bhrid Naofa,who qualified for the national finals of the indoor athletics competition held at the Athlone Institute of Technology on Wednesday the 20th of March 2013.

Ladies Get Fit: Ladies after Easter you can get fit with group classes and find the motivation to stick to your weight loss plan. New 6 week fitness programme starting Monday the 8th and Thursday the 11th of April at 8pm in Ballinamore Community Centre. Also if you want to start exercising join our Tuesday and Thursday at 11am class in the SOH GAA Gym. Being around people with a similar goal amplifies your enthusiasm. Party: Ballinamore after school are having a party in lollipop kids to celebrate 10 years of afterschool service in Ballinamore. Programme: I am running a 6 week structured programme aimed at developing an individual’s ability to positively respond to negative and challenging events in their life, in April and May 2013 in Carrick-on-Shannon. This is a preventative and protective programme based on sound cognitive behavioural therapy principles, and aimed at wide ranges of adults such as parents worried about themselves or their children or people facing new challenges in their careers or personal lives. Re-used goods: Green branch Reused Goods is now open at Unit 3 Riverside, next to the Health Food Store. A second hand store and consignment shop, there are clothes for all ages, toys, bicycles, books, dvd’s and videos, jewellery, musical equipment, and general bric a brac. Homemade Organic bread is available daily and can be ordered by request on 1 day notice. A list of breads that can be ordered is in store, but include Hemp, White, Spelt, Tomato & Garlic, Garlic & Herb, Cinnamon & Nut, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds & Honey Wholemeal, Focaccias. All loaves can be made as rolls are 2 euro each.
