The Shannon Key West Hotel in Rooskey is among the 127 properties to be put up for auction in the Allsop sale on 3 October. The hotel, previously owned by the Flynn family, was closed last October by the court-appointed liquidator with the loss of twenty jobs. The business had held debts of more than €3 million euros owed mainly to AIB, along with €200,000 owed to the tax authorities.
The property has been forwarded for auction on the instructions of the reciever Simon Davidson. The property has been described in the synopsis on the auction’s website as comprising of thirty-nine bedrooms and housing the Shannon Suite, the Kilgrass Restaurant and the Club Key West Leisure Club among other attractions. It is also characterised as benefitting from views overlooking the River Shannon.
The hotel was once valued at €5 million prior to a writedown to just under half that in 2010. The reserve price at auction is not to exceed €300,000.
A property at 65 Ardnacassagh, Longford is also featured in sale on the same date. The property is descibed as a freehold three bedroom semi-detached house with the reserve price not to exceed €20,000.
Also, there are three properties situated in or near Carrick-on-Shannon up for auction on 3 October. These include two vacant flats in the Pavillion in Central Park, Leitrim, situated near the Landmark Hotel. Both properties are held on a long lease for a term of 999 years from 1 March 2003 (thus having approximately 989 years unexpired) at a current ground rent of €1 per annum. One of the apartments comprises of a self-contained three bedroom apartment and has its reserve price set not to exceed €30,000 while the other apartment contains two bedrooms and has its reserve price set not to exceed €25,000.
A three bedroom detached bungalow in Kilclare, twelve kilometres north-east of Carrick-on-Shannon is featured in the auction with the reserve price also not to exceed €25,000.
Ballypheason House, situated on the Circular Road near Roscommon Town, is at Lot 88. Characterised as a four bedroom detached house covering 0.5 acres located on the N63, it has been forwarded for auction by the reciever RSM Farrell Grant Sparks.
A three bedroom house in Druid’s Lane, Elphin is also to be put up for auction with the resserve price not to exceed €40,000
