ST CHRISTOPHERS FINAL TALLY: 2303.37 euro was the total return from the fundraiser held in Sloweys pub on Saturday night June 16 last. Well done to patrons who contributed so generously.

The load of turf for the ‘guess the weight’ competition was kindly donated by John Slowey. The ticket sellers who made sure that everybody was in the draw deserve a special mention. The organisers also ackowledge the refreshments providers who kept hunger at bay. The night could not be successful without good entertainment. To this end Billy Moran branch chairman put together a rare assortment of gifted local and localish’ artists. The brilliant Ita Tighe made sure that the night was always lively until proceedings came to an end around ten past twelve ! A final word of thanks to the Slowey family for their help and support in organising the event for their tolerance during the temporary take over. INNY ANGLERS: Results of Inny Anglers Lotto draw held in Caseys. Numbers drawn were 2,18 and 26. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were John Slowey jnr and Tommy Doherty. This week’s jackpot is 1750 euro.
CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Elaine and Hughie Balllesty on the birth of their baby boy Glen at the general hospital Mullingar last weekend. A welcome brother for Gavin we hope mother and baby are doing well.
CEMETERY MASS: Mass and blessing of the graves in parish cemeteries are as follows: Foxhall on Thursday July 5th at 8pm ,Kilglass on Friday July 13 at 8pm. Agharra on Friday July 20 at 8pm. Families are asked to inform members living outside the parish.

GAA: Legan Sarsfields GAA Lotto draw was held in Caseys On Monday night for a jackpot of 4400 euro. Numbers drawn were 2,5,7 and 22. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winner of 1000 euro was Stephen Boylan. This week’s draw took place in Mitchells and results will be published next week.

GAA CUL CAMP: The Gaa Cul Camps for boys and girls age 6 to 13 years will take place in Moran GAA Park Carrickedmond from July 16th to 20th and in Keenan Park Ardagh July 23rd to 27th. BALLYCLOGHAN NS CLASSES: This week all national Schools closed for Summer holidays but sadly Ballycloghan National School will close for the last time. We take this opportunity to thank all the present teachers and staff and all the former teachers who have taught in Ballycloghan over the past sixty years. The school and staff was the cornerstone of the community and contributed greatly in so many ways .We wish all concerned the best of luck for the future in their new environments.

LEGAN/BALLYCLOGHAN COMMUNITY GAMES: The committee of Legan /Ballycloghan Community games would like to thank all the children who participated throughout the year which began in February with art competition. We had participants in handwriting quiz,talent competition and athletics. We would like to congratulate Abbey Doherty who was placed 4th in the national art Finals U8 competition Athlone. Also to Grainne Doyle who won bronze medal in U14 10 metres in the county finals and Blaine Murphy who won Silver in U10 100 metres in county final . Well done. If any children still have tops from the county final could they please return them to a committee member. We would like to wish all a happy and safe Summer.
