Bereavement: It is with regret we report the death of Mrs Mary Murtagh, Market St., Granard which occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Longford on Friday 17th September. Though advanced in age her passing has cast a deep shadow of gloom over the area. Formerly Banks from Derrycasson she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Philip Murtagh many years ago. She was noted for her kindness and unassuming way of life. She is survived by her son J.P., daughter Mary, sister Lily Dooner, Ennybegs, in-laws, nephews and nieces to whom our sympathy is extended. May she rest in peace.
