Playground: Many thanks to all who attended and/or supported the Ardagh Playground Raffle held at the Tidy Towns Bingo on the 6th of September. 450 euro was raised towards the cost of upcoming maintenance work at the playground. The raffle prize, which was a gift basket donated by Tesco Community Champion Paul Connell, was won on the night by Frances Cox.

Book Club: Irish Author Claire Keegan will be discussing her literary works at the Longford County Library on Monday the 3rd of October. All are welcome; entry is free of charge. Time to be confirmed. Queries to Longford Co Library.

SUCCESS: The annual St. Patrick’s GAA golf outing was a tremendous success again this year, with the after party in Lyons Bar going on until the early hours and was enjoyed by all. The men’s trophy was won by Roger Timlin, followed by Coleman Lovett and Declan Flynn. The ladies trophy was won by Rita Farrell with Ann Sullivan second and Geraldine Timlin in third position. The sponsors this year were: Coleman Lovett, Robert English, Roger & Geraldine Timlin, Frank McNamee Photography, Pascal Lyons, Niall Whitney, Paul Connell (Tesco), Paddy Farrell and Donal Keenan. The Robert English hole-in-one competition raised €115 in aid of St. Christophers.
