CHURCH RENOVATION: It is good to see the scaffolding erected at Boherquill Church in preparation for the big job that is about to start on the Church roof as well as the other works. We wish Fr. Joe well with this project which no doubt will bring its own headaches and problems as work progresses. The project manager with control over the job is local engineer John Madden who lives in Bunbrosna and who has overseen many projects in the parish in the past.
FUNDRAISER: As their gesture Streete Parish Park committee are holding s fundraiser for the Church Renovation Fund on this Friday night 23rd Sept. When one of Irelands top entertainers Patrick Feeney and his band will perform in our Streete Sports Complex. There will be a licensed Bar on the night and the main band will be preceded at 9.30 p.m. by Pat Masterson and his Country Road show. And as Fr. Joe said last Sunday we all use the Church during our life starting with Baptism and ending with death, so he asks for our support to join with funds already raised in local pubs at heir events. Admission is €15. Time – 9 to 1.30 a.m.
FARMERS MARKET: Streete Farmers Market resumed in the Parish Park Complex last Saturday morning and will take place every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. It was good to see most of our previous suppliers back as well as some new ones which included handmade jewellery, organic honey in jars and in frames, free range eggs, aloe vera products, timber, turf, cakes, breads, tarts, etc, etc.
