Protest: Hundreds of people gathered on the bridge over the river Shannon last Friday evening to protest vehemently over the closure of A and E services at Roscommon Hospital. Many local people were among the crowd expressing concern. It is thought that other forms of protests will continue to occur over the coming weeks and months. It is clear that people are very angry at the completes closure of the A and E and are not prepared to accept what is proposed. The protest in Tarmonbarry was peaceful and did not obstruct traffic.
