Sympathies of the club were expressed to John and the Gordon and Keenan families on the death of John’s mother, Tish Gordon and his sister Maureen’s husband, Joe Keenan. “They are gone no further from us than God.” May their souls rest in peace.
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS: Her many friends here in Mohill wish to join with me in congratulating Rose Dolan, Kiclare Nursing Home, on celebrating her 91st birthday with family and friends. We all remember Rose when she and her late husband John had their public house here in Glebe Street. Rose greeted everybody with that lovely smile and firm handshake. We all wish you many more years in good health, and every blessing now and in the future. “No age is old when you reach it.”
JOSEPHINE PATRICIA GORDON (REILLY): The people of Mohill were in deep sorrow on hearing of the death of Tish Gordon, Treanhore, who died in the wonderful care of her devoted family on the 7th July, just one day after the death of her beloved son-in-law Joe Keenan. She was also predeceased by her husband John and sisters Maureen and Annie, RIP. Tish was a lady of many qualities, a great wife, mother, sister, granny, auntie, neighbour and loyal friend. Down through the years she was held in the highest esteem by the many people she met during her working years. She was a lady of deep faith, who died as she lived with dignity. The very large attendance at her removal to St. Patrick’s Church and again at her Requiem Mass on Sunday last was indeed testimony to the very high esteem in which she and her dear family were held by the whole community. Our sympathies are with her sons Brian, John, David, daughter Maureen (Keenan), brother Christy, sisters Peggy, Mimmie, Ettie, Ena, Carmel, Helen and Phyllis, daughers-in-law, grandchildren, their extended families and all who mourn Tish at this sad time. “People will walk in and out of your life, but only loved ones will leave footprints in your heart.” May her gentle soul rest in peace.
