Carrigallen May 6

Leitrim Ploughing - The Leitrim county ploughing championship held on the lands of Mr Fergal Reilly, Tully Carrigallen was a great success. The lands were in beautiful shape due to the three weeks free of rain and the summer like conditions left the event much easier for the large amount of tractors and horse ploughers that were taking part, many of whom travelled long journeys. County Down Monaghan Mayo Roscommon Longford Meath Westmeath and Cavan and a large number of loy diggers also showed their skills. A word of thanks to the hard working committee who did a great job to have everything running so smoothly including the large flow of traffic.

This was marvelous achievement against stiff competition from Ireland England and the USA . Well done to Vannessa who has performed locally over the years and has worked very hard to secure this success. Our own Corn Mill Theatre was very generous in providing the stage props to the Ard Rialla school. Well done again Vanessa and all involved.
