LOTTO - The numbers drawn were 7, 9, 12, and 13. The numbers drawn for the second jackpot of €3750 were 12, 17, 21 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot. The six drawn winners are Darren McLoughlin, Patricia Moran, Ken Goodwin, Chantelle Duke, Sharon Donnelly & Emma Murtagh. Sellers Prize went to Sexton’s Shop.

The next draw is 21st February 2011 and this draw will have two jackpots one for €15,000 and the next for €3,900. The results of that draw will be printed next week. The RCD have capped 15,000 euro jackpot and set up another jackpot which will increase every draw if not won. Your €2 ticket will be entered into both draws. Thank you to all who buy a ticket, you are helping to support local projects and the next big project is to develop the rest of the RCD field into a community park. Tickets can be brought in Sexton’s Shop, Rathowen Post Office, Connaughtons Pub and Feericks Hotel, along with several people selling. TIDY TOWNS

With Spring now here, Rathowen Tidy Towns are getting ready to do a Spring clean of the area!!!! Volunteers are needed and everyone is welcome to come along every Saturday morning at 10am outside Sexton’s Shop. Please come and bring gloves for your hands but pickers and bags will be supplied.

MONSTER QUIZ NIGHT

Monster Quiz Night is also planned to raise some much needed funds and the date for the quiz is 12th March in Feericks Hotel at 9pm. €20 per table.

OLD PHONES

St Mary’s National School is looking for old phones, to get a free interactive whiteboard. The Jack & Jill foundation will give them a free interactive whiteboard if they collect old mobile phones. The school is hoping to collect over 500, so please check all drawers and ask extended family, neighbours, friends and work colleagues if they have any old phones. Please bring all phones to Rathowen Post Office or drop into Fiona & Basil in the shop. Many thanks for your help.

PILGRIMAGE

From May 25th to June 1st cost from €460 half board. This year is the 30th anniversary of the apparitions of our lady. Anyone interested in doing a trip to Medurgorje please contact Tommy on 043-6685912 or 087-6851691.

ST FINTAN’S GAA

Training is back on with times as follows: U8 6 pm to 7pm every Friday, U10 & U12 7pm to 8pm every Friday.Any one interested in helping with training please contact Lennart Thomsen on 0877526004 or any committee member. Registration is still ongoing and anyone interested in registering their child/ children are all very welcome to do so.

Are holding a table quiz in the Covert, Ballinafid on Thursday 24th February at 8.30pm at 40 euro per table.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

To book the community centre you can contact Peter or Liz on 043-6676189. To book the Community Centre for an event you are asked to give at least 4 weeks notice, and don’t plan your event ahead before the community centre is booked as the centre is used all the time and please don’t presume the date is free!!!! The C.E. office in St Thomas Hall is closed, anyone with notes for the paper can leave all with Lorraine in the Post office. Faxing and photocopying also available in the Post Office.
