Gortletteragh February 23

COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP - We are currently looking at the possibility of providing an After School service from 2pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday in the old school, Gortletteragh. The setting up of an After School club would obviously depend on the number of children who would be availing of the service.

COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP - We are currently looking at the possibility of providing an After School service from 2pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday in the old school, Gortletteragh. The setting up of an After School club would obviously depend on the number of children who would be availing of the service.

Therefore, if you have children currently in the school or starting school in September 2011 or September 2012 and would be interested in availing of an After School service, please call or text Caroline on 0879941760 or alternatively you can email ck.bohan@hotmail.com. We would really appreciate a speedy response on this matter.

GAA DRAW

The draw for January and February takes place on Friday, 4th March in the Community Centre at an under age function. With the politicians now out of the way we will be canvassing any house that has not so far got a chance to buy a ticket, just to remind us the ticket covers for 12

monthly draws with 400 euro in prizes each month. The January draw has an added bonus of two extra prizes of €1000 each - all for just €50 or €1 a week - if you are not in you can’t win.

SCRAP METAL

We got our scrap metal collection off to a flying start last Saturday and got rid of two great loads, we would like to sincerely thank the people who so far have donated their materials to the club, which is greatly appreciated, we will be out again this Saturday and anyone we hadn’t time to get to last week will be visited this week. This scrap collection will be ongoing for several weeks to come. If you have not got our flyer or you want to know the arrangements etc., contact Kevin @ 0862103381, Colm @ 0872624718 or Mark @ 0863107763.

RECENT DEATH

We tender deepest sympathy to school principal Barbara Kavanagh on the death at Portiuncla Nursing Home, Multyfarnham, of her mother Anna Murphy. The removal took place on Friday to St. Bernard’s church, Abbeylara and following the funeral Mass on Saturday she was laid to rest in her native parish of Colmcille. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, they both resided and taught in the local school in Cloonagh for many years, and were a popular couple in the community. May she rest in peace.

ACTIVE AGE

The next meeting of the Autumn Club will take place on Thursday week, March 3rd at 8pm.

On Friday next the ordinary citizens will have their say on who to entrust the running of our country over the next five years. Your vote does count, so take the time on Friday to do your democratic duty. Presently people are demonstrating in many countries across the globe seeking the right to vote.
