It was a relieved band of local supporters who left Breffni park on Wednesday evening having eventually secured a 2pt win over Ballinagh in extra time in the replay. When it looked as the Dreadnoughts were dead and buried on came substitute Daniel Smith from the bench and pointed to level the game and force extra time. In the first half of extra time, Ballinagh went a point ahead before a 2 minute period that turned the match on its head. Super sub Daniel Smith gathered the ball after a mistake by the Ballinagh defence to fire to the net. From the resultant kick out Christy Shiels burst through and set up Peter Paul Galligan for another goal and suddenly Mullahoran led by 5. Despite intense pressure from the town side in the second half of extra time the lads held out to the end to win by 2 points and live to fight another day. A lot of homework needs to be done before next outing in the quarter finals against winners of Killygarry/Cootehill.
