Gun Club

Mullinalaghta/Mullahoran Gun Club will hold their annual draw on Sunday, 1st November. Tickets are on sale in local shops or from any club member. Details of prizes will be published next week. Support would be appreciated.

School Reopens

St. Columba’s N.S. reopened on Tuesday 1st September following the summer break. We welcome teachers and pupils back and hope all had an enjoyable time. A special mention for two little girls who took the big step by attending for the first time. They are Aibreán Mulligan and Clare Brady who are both from Cloonagh. Best wishes to the following who have departed for secondary school. Sinéad Reilly, Lorraine & Evelyn Flood, Connor Leonard. Cathal Byrne, Raymond McGivney, Kian Reilly and Jack D’Arcy.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to local man, James McDowell, son of Christy and Kathleen, Mullinroe and Amanda O’Hara daughter of Francis and Evelyn, Cloonaugh, Drumlish who were united in Holy Matrimony on Friday, 28th August. Following the ceremony all travelled to the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon where a delicious meal was laid on, following which the celebrations continued into the early hours of Saturday morning. On behalf of their many friends we wish James and Amanda many years of happiness together and good health in their new home in the parish of Drumlish. His family and neighbours will certainly miss him in Mullinroe.

St. Christopher’s Services

The Granard Branch of St. Christopher’s Services is holding a grand raffle fro two tickets for the One Direction’s concert in the 3 Arena in Dublin on Sunday 18th October. Raffle tickets cost €5.00 each and can be purchased from Super Value, Granard or any committee member. Draw will take place at a function at John V Donohue’s on Saturday 19th September when there will also be other prizes. Hope you will give this great event your support.

Holy Hour

Exposition of the blessed sacrament will be held at St. Columba’s Church every Thursday from 8.00p.m -9.00p.m. All are welcome.

Lotto Draw

St. Columba’s G.F.C held their weekly lotto draw on Thursday 3rd September. The numbers drawn were 17, 21, 25, 29 with jackpot of €1150 remaining intact. Ladies Footballers

As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday night’s main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are now due for renewal at €50 each by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be appreciated. The winning number on Saturday 5th September was 40 with no winner.
