The past week has been one of great celebrations following the ordination of Fr. Seamus O Rourke and huge crowds attended his first mass which was celebrated in his native St. Colmcilles in Aughnacliffe on Monday evening June 22nd. Fr.Seamus gave his first blessing to all present and well after midnight he made his way home. Then on Saturday night last, Fr. Seamus celebrated Mass in St. Mary’s in Granard and again the church was packed as was the community centre for his blessing which he bestowed on all. On behalf of all, we say a very sincere thanks to Fr. Seamus and wish him every blessing in the future.
Cemetery Sunday will be celebrated in Granardkille cemeteries starting with Mass in the new cemetery on Sunday, July 26th at 1pm and on Sunday August 2nd the 11-30am Mass will be celebrated in the old cemetery.
Every year the problem of dumping rubbish along our roads seems to raise it’s ugly head. It is not good enough for anyone to simply throw out rubbish in this manner and we appeal to those responsible for dumping the mattress in Willsbrook to please remove it, immediately.
