Schools out for the Summer
As the school year comes to a close, we wish all the children a safe and happy summer holiday. To the teachers, we hope you have a well earned break, ready for September.
Little People out and about
As the weather improves, we would like to remind you all to slow down and take extra care on the roads as the children begin their Summer holidays. We remind all the parents that children should be wearing bicycle helmets/ safety gear and be supervised when on the road. Now is a good time to remind the children about stranger danger and what to do if approached by an unknown adult. Also, there are concerns about the safety of our children due to the high level of broken glass on the footpaths. We ask that everyone makes a conscience effort to ensure our footpaths are glass free for everyone’s comfort and safety.
The adjudicators are due any day now, an enormous effort has been made by many to push the village to the next level so it is important to maintain this very high standard by keeping the bit outside your door swept and litter free. We also appeal for help with watering - an hour or two in the late evening would be especially welcome, contact Dympna at 087 397 7799 for details. A big thank you to all who supported the annual church gate collection at the weekend. The villages of Drumlish and Ballinamuck are looking fabulous and everyone’s hard work is paying off. We as a parish and community should be very proud of both our villages and with Pride of Place taking place in July we need to keep up the good work.
Ballinamuck Bingo continues this Tuesday and every Tuesday at 8.30 sharp. Prize fund on the night €1300. All welcome!
