Over the last number of months equipment has been damaged in the playground. This is very disappointing. The committee has asked to remind people that the equipment in the playground is for use by under 13s ONLY. It is not built for use by adults or older teenagers. The committee also wants to remind people that the playground is not a dumping ground and rubbish should be brought with you. The environmental officer with Longford County Council is keeping an eye on this issue and people will receive fines.
The dumping of rubbish is on on-going issue. Weekly this area has to be cleaned, dumping their household rubbish and not disposing of their glasses correctly. Longford County Council have now erected CCTV to catch the perpetrators. Anyone caught will be fined €150 with an appearance in court.
